We're excited to announce that we've extended the deadline for our anthology submissions!

This year's theme focuses on the ramifications of conflicts in a post-Covid world, with a special emphasis on states, institutions, and corporations. We want to know how they react and interact in a world that appears increasingly multipolar. With the geopolitical climate in mind, we wish to discuss conflict and confrontation: how do we address them in this changing geopolitical dynamic?

Some prospective topics include the refugee boat crisis in Britain, ambiguities behind energy and gas procurement in the EU post-Ukraine invasion, and displacement from theatres of war in South Sudan, Ukraine, and Eritrea. We welcome features, op-eds, investigative reporting, and photo essays for the anthology, so please submit your contributions using the link in our bio.

Don't forget that submissions should ideally be no more than 1,500 words and include a title and picture with source. You're also welcome to include a short biography and your photo with your submission.

This episode of The Global Review seeks to follow-up on the Castillo Dilemma. We discuss with Professor Cynthia Sanborn, with experience in international relations, on the wide implication for the Peruvian political instability on Latin America Politics and economics.

Cynthia A. Sanborn is a Professor of Political Science at the Universidad del Pacífico. She has previously been Vice President for Research and Director of a major think tank at the same university. Dr. Sanborn has written and edited articles and books on issues related to Peruvian and international politics and development, corporate social responsibility, and the extractive industries. Her most recent work has focused on the socio-environmental and political impacts of Chinese investment in Latin America. She is a member of the Working Group on Development and the Environment in the Americas, based at Boston University, and has previously been the William Henry Bloomberg Visiting Professor at Harvard University. Dr. Sanborn received her PhD and MA in Government from Harvard University and her BA in Political Science from the University of Chicago.

Conflict and Contradiction: Navigating an Uncertain World
.
For this year’s topic, we bear in mind the ramifications of conflicts in a post-Covid world. With a focus on states, institutions and corporations, we’re interested in how they react and interact in a world that appears increasingly multipolar, while accounting for the unique environmental, economic and political problems that affect each country over the past year. Considering the geopolitical climate, with key events such as Turkey’s recent earthquake, the Northern Ireland Protocol, and climate injustice in the backdrop, to name a few - we wish to discuss conflict and confrontation: how do we address them in this changing geopolitical dynamic?

In addition to the examples above, some prospective topics include:
(1) Britain’s refugee boat crisis and why it holds importance in UK’s political discourse
(2) Ambiguities behind energy and gas procurement in the EU, post-Ukraine invasion
(3) Displacement from theatres of war in South Sudan, Ukraine, and Eritrea
